Shigeru Kawai Piano Competition The Shigeru Kawai International Piano Competition, established in 2017, is proud to announce its 4th competition. Originally scheduled for 2021, the 4th competition was postponed due to concerns over Covid-19. It is now set to take place the summer of 2022. The Preliminary Round will begin in February 2022. Sakura Hall, located at Shibuya Cultural Center Owada in Tokyo, Japan will be the site for The Final Round of the competition which will be held on August 6, 2022. As was the case with previous competitions, the Final Round piano concerto will be performed on two Kawai SK-EX full concert grand pianos. Messrs. Andrey Pisarev and Pavel Nersessian, esteemed professors at The Moscow Conservatory, will accompany these Final Round performances. The Shigeru Kawai International Piano Competition has successfully brought together promising pianists from around the globe to perform and compete.
